Celebrating Global Peace
2014 Was an especially great year full of hard work and dedication from our members to create our special dedication LaVoix tabletop book. What a spectacular gift it was to take the time required to celebrate the traditions and the love we have around us, the love that unites us. Poetic Couture has been helping others for many years now, each issue dedicated to a new cause we work hard for until we feel confident we have fulfilled our mission.
2015 brings us so many new challenges, and is a year of great remembrance and growth. It has been especially important with regards to culture and race. Current topics have brought Poetic Couture to St. Louis, New York, and many other cities to cover what we believe to be great tragedies we all can learn and grow from. Seeing the aftermath, speaking to the community and getting involved in sharing their message on both sides has taught us so much that will forever mold us into the publication we always aim to be.
We are an initiative that believes in freedom from fear of violence and a harmony that can only exist between nations and communities when we reach the peace within ourselves and with humankind. With this awareness we gain perspective into the social relevance that interconnects us as individuals and therefore countries. Every voice can be recognized, understood, and respected. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”
